Listen: Alice Cooper debuts 'Ballad of Dwight Frye' from 'Live at the Olympia Paris'

 Alice Cooper fans pumped to catch the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer on his upcoming summer tour of North America can whet their appetite with a live performance of the 1971 Love It to Death classic “Ballad of Dwight Frye.” The track is from the shock-rock pioneer's upcoming live album A Paranormal Evening with Alice Cooper at the Olympia in Paris, which drops Aug. 31 via Earmusic.

The “Elected” hitmaker unveiled the latest live offering via a news release posted July 26 at his official Alice Cooper website ahead of his U.S. summer tour launch, which kicks off Aug. 3 in Milwaukee at Wisconsin State Fair Park.  “Ballad of Dwight Frye” is the second audio track to surface from “Live at the Olympia Paris” following the lead release “Poison.”

The performance was recorded on Dec. 7, 2017, in Paris at the world famous Olympia. The stop was the final date of Cooper's extensive world tour in support of his highly successful 2017 studio album Paranormal.  

“Live at the Olympia Paris” features 18 tracks, including greatest hits and beloved fan favs  like “School's Out,” “Only Women Bleed” and “I'm Eighteen.” It is available for preorder here in digital, CD and vinyl formats. Fans can check out the live performance of “Ballad of Dwight Frye” above.

Rock's favorite boogieman wrapped his winter U.S. tour leg on March 29 in Indianapolis and then headed overseas with his supergroup Hollywood Vampire, who wrapped up their European trek with a huge show on June 20 in London at The SSE Arena Wembley.  Cooper's upcoming U.S. summer tour leg is currently scheduled to conclude on Oct. 29 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at DeVos Performance Hall.
