Maroon 5 are looking for a helping hand in their new single "Help Me Out." The Grammy Award-winning band teams up with Julia Michaels for their new song, which you can listen to now by playing the video above.
"Help Me Out" is the second single from Maroon 5's upcoming sixth studio album entitled Red Pill Blues, which the band formally announced on Thursday; you can find more information about the album here. With the cat out of the bag and the record's release date just around the corner on Nov. 3, they've wasted no time in dropping another single that will definitely have audiences wondering what the entire album is going to sound like. Because based on "Help Me Out" and the previous single "What Lovers Do", Red Pill Blues isn't going to sound like any Maroon 5 album that's come out before.
Both singles have Maroon 5's trademark pop bounce to them, but that's not their only similarity. Both feature a guest female vocalist, and both involve a lyrical back and forth between that person and Maroon 5's lead singer Adam Levine. "Help Me Out" feels more like a dialogue than a straightforward single. While one of Maroon 5's charms is that the band is always searching for new sources of inspiration and new directions to take, fans also don't want to have those featured artists overshadowing Levine's own vocal abilities, or the musicianship the rest of the band brings to the table. Thankfully, Michaels blends with Levine quite smoothly.
"Help Me Out" is another upbeat tune, too, which will absolutely put a smile on any listener's face. Especially if music fans have been feeling down recently, this new single will perk them up and liven up their playlists at the same time. The new single will definitely hook audiences into checking out Red Pill Blues, which will arrive just before the band plays their annual New Year's Eve shows at Las Vegas's Mandalay Bay Events Center.
