U.K. singer-songwriter Charli XCX released her Pop 2 mixtape on Dec. 15. Among the multiple collaborations, she teams up with Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen on standout "Backseat."

Pop 2  was Charli's second mixtape last year following Number 1 Angel. For Pop, she gathered fellow acts like Tove Lo, Mykki Blanco, Brooke Candy and Cupcakke. Ms. XCX teamed up with "Call Me Maybe" hit-maker Jepsen on "Backseat," one of the mixtape's best tracks.

Ms. XCX wrote "Backseat" with Jepsen and producers A.G. Cook and EasyFun. Distorted synths and digitized beats back the ladies reflecting on an empty life they try to fill with cheap thrills. "I'm better off all alone," Charli and Carly sing together. An Autotuned XCX is rounded out by Jepsen's sweet vocals. "Backseat" is heartbreaking electronica driven home by two of pop's trailblazers.

"Backseat" featuring Jepsen is now available on iTunes and Apple Music alongside Charli XCX's Pop 2 mixtape. Carly is currently opening for Katy Perry's Witness Tour and tickets for the remaining shows are on-sale.
