Listen: Natalie Prass shares new single ‘Lost,’ reveals new tour dates

Natalie Prass has shared the next track which is set to appear on her upcoming sophomore album with an emotional and honest love ballad titled “Lost.” The smooth and evocative new song was shared on Tuesday morning, and follows the previously released “Short Court Style” and “Sisters” as the next songs that will be included on The Future and the Past when it arrives in one month on June 1 via ATO Records.

"I was afraid to record this one, I fought it hard (and it almost didn’t make it) because it was written during a time that I needed to completely put behind me,” Prass admitted in a pair of posts shared to her Twitter page on Tuesday morning. “But I wrapped my head around a new understanding of its lyrics...it’s empowering. It’s about putting your foot down when enough is enough. Most of the time it’s easier said than done. Thanks for listening.”

The soulful new song continues Prass’ 2018 campaign of sharing fantastic modernized singer-songwriter themes with glistening layers of subtle pop production work. Where “Short Court Style” and “Sisters” found their way into the dance-friendly arena, “Lost” steps back and allows Prass to let her vocals and lyrics lead the way, rather than forcing the listener to rely on a catchy beat. The brand new song can be heard in full via the audio-only video above.

Prass began her 2018 tour schedule with an initial batch of shows in North America back in March and into April, having just wrapped her brief U.K. leg this past weekend. Now, she's announced new tour dates near the end of the year. Before that tour, she’ll return to performing with a show at New York’s Rough Trade on June 1 for her album release show, followed by a steadier schedule of North American shows throughout the latter half of summer and into fall. Tickets for select concerts on her upcoming tour itinerary are on sale now, and can be purchased by clicking here.
