Listen: The Avett Brothers release new pop-infused single 'Trouble Letting Go'

After releasing their first new music since 2016 in November, The Avett Brothers have shared another single called “Trouble Letting Go.” The new tune is an upbeat, pop-infused number containing splashes of piano over strummed guitar, with Seth and Scott Avett trading lead vocal duties on the verses and bridges.

“Trouble Letting Go” also offers up an atmospheric middle section that alludes to the folk rockers' psychedelic tendencies. The song is an interesting foil to the previously released, country-tinged “Roses And Sacrifice." You can listen to “Trouble Letting Go” in the video above.

The Avett Brothers have revealed that they are working on a new album with Rick Rubin set for a 2019 release. As Jambase reported, Scott Avett--in a recent interview with the News Observer--detailed that the band is in the mixing stage of production. The new record follows the Avetts’ critically acclaimed 2016 LP, True Sadness.

The Avett Brothers are set to tour in 2019 including a three-night run at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. You can find tickets to select Avett Brothers dates along with their Red Rocks run by following this link.
