Singer-songwriter Sufjan Stevens has been sharing his music from the Luca Guadagnino film "Call Me by Your Name."
"Visions of Gideon," the final song on the soundtrack, is just one of Stevens' contributions. He also wrote "Mystery of Love" for the film, which recently got its own music video featuring clips from the film in the north Italian countryside. The soundtrack also includes a Doveman remix of Age of Adz opening track “Futile Devices," as well as new music from Giorgio Moroder, the Psychedelic Furs, and more.
Both "Visions of Gideon" and "Mystery of Love" are among 70 songs on the shortlist for Best Original Song at this year's Academy Awards. The five songs that earn nominations will be announced Jan. 23.
Stevens has also shared multiple tracks from The Greatest Gift Mixtape—Outtakes, Remixes, & Demos from Carrie & Lowell, a companion piece to his most recent album, Carrie & Lowell, released in 2015. He previewed the album with and a demo of "John My Beloved" and outtake "Wallowa Lake Monster," one of four previously unreleased songs on the album.
