Listen: Tyga releases latest single 'Goddamn'

Thank You God Always is the backronym for the highly-popularized hip-hop artist and entrepreneur many know simply as Tyga. Though hailing from Compton, California, a young Michael Ray Steveson (now known as Tyga) was fortunate enough to come from healthy upbringing, financially-stable environment, and supportive parents. With such a positive upbringing, Tyga developed the work ethic that has allowed him to become one of the most relevant names in hip-hop today.

Throughout Tyga's lengthy fifteen-year entertainment career, Tyga's become a hip-hop party song staple and released a total of six studio albums, a collaborative album alongside R&B sensation, Chris Brown, and starred in several films including DOPE (2015), Barbershop: The Next Cut (2016), and more. Now, in preparation of the release of his seventh studio album, T7, the "Taste" rapper has released a new party anthem single entitled "Goddamn."

Tyga's "Goddamn" features a dominant eight-bar loop dressed with harmonious vocal undertones, a plucked string melody, and closed out by an emerging string section. A heavy 808 bassline is impossible to ignore while a very structured drum pattern offers upfront hi-hats and a hard-hitting snare drum allow Tyga to weave in and out of the instrumentation with his lust-driven lyrical content. Contextually, Tyga is aiming for a summer anthem all the ladies could get behind, and with his performance on this track there's a strong possibility that the masses will be hearing "Goddamn" a lot through the warmer months of the year.
