Listen: 'Weird Al' Yankovic unleashes 'Hamilton' polka medley
Team Coco/YouTube

"Weird Al" Yankovic has given us the "Hamilton" polka medley we didn't know we needed. The master of comedy music dropped "The Hamilton Polka" this week as part of Lin-Manuel Miranda's "Hamildrops" series.

The five-minute track is another one of the awesome polka medleys that appear on every one of Weird Al's records, just with the songs from "Hamilton" instead. And like all things Weird Al, it's awesome. Many people have recorded, remixed and reimagined songs from "Hamilton" since the musical became a smash hit, but leave it to Weird Al to make the polka version the most addictive.

There's also a bit of a story here: Weird Al and "Hamilton" wunderkind Miranda actually happen to be friends who have a fair amount of history together. Play the video above to watch Al explain that they're both fans of each other's work, and tell an anecdote about a young Lin-Manuel Miranda seeing Weird Al in concert back in 1985. Then here's Miranda telling the story about when he first met Weird Al and had absolutely no chill. And if that's still not awesome enough for you, here's Miranda reacting to "The Hamilton Polka" and it's adorable.

Maybe this medley could inspire a future collaboration between two musical geniuses? We can only hope, but it's definitely an absolute blast that will give you a new appreciation for both "Hamilton" and polka music.

"Weird Al" Yankovic is spending the first part of the year on the road with his "Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour" guest starring Emo Philips.
