Austin-based electro-rockers White Denim recently revealed details for their upcoming album, Side Effects. As Jambase reported, the band said in a statement that the new record acts as a companion piece to their 2018 album, Performance, while also channeling the band’s high-energy live performances, akin to White Denim’s 2010 fan-favorite Last Day of Summer. Side Effects arrives on March 29.
White Denim also shared two songs from the nine-track album. “Shanalala” is a tight rocker with a driving beat, crunchy guitar and White Denim’s signature electronic wizardry. Check it out in the video above. The intro of “NY Money” has the controlled chaos and arrangement mastery of Frank Zappa but quickly melts into a sleek groove with acoustic guitar and a spacious, euphoric vibe. Listen to “NY Money” below.
White Denim will hit the road this spring around Side Effects, including a stop at Neumos in Seattle on April 17. Click here for tickets to the Seattle show.
