Louis C.K. debuted his new film, "I Love You Daddy," at the Toronto International Film Festival last month, and he's now shared the first official trailer from the film. It hits theaters on Nov. 17 in New York and Los Angeles with a wider release across North America set for Dec. 1. Watch the trailer above.

The film centers around filmmaker Glen Topher (C.K.) and his 17-year-old daughter (Chloë Grace Moretz), who begins a relationship with renowned filmmaker Leslie Goodwin (John Malkovich). Goodwin is noted for his relationships with young women, and Topher aims to keep his daughter away from him.

Shot entirely in black-and-white 35 mm film, "I Love You, Daddy" was filmed in secrecy this past June. The film also features Pamela Adlon, Charlie Day, Helen Hunt and Edie Falco.

The film was picked up by The Orchard, an American music and entertainment company owned by Sony Music, following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It serves as C.K.'s first directing credit since contributing to "Pootie Tang" in 2001.
