Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber continue to hold strong on their No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart with the mostly Spanish track "Despacito." As it spends a seventh week atop the chart, the song has the most activity on two of the three formula tallies as seen on the June 27 update. "Despacito" also picks up increased radio airplay with a slight increase as it looks to take over the radio charts.
"Despacito" has zero sign of slowing down in its seventh week in the peak slot on the Hot 100. On Digital Songs, it remains the most sold track for the week having 139,000 downloads and is down just slightly over the previous week's 141,000. "Despacito" does decrease in activity by nearly five percent on Streaming Songs but it stays put at No. 1 for a seventh week with 66.6 million hits across platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.
It's on Radio Songs that Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Bieber pick up and at this rate it has a feasible chance of reaching the top. It moves one spot from No. 3 to No. 2 on the chart which is tracked Monday through Sunday versus a Friday through Thursday formula. The trio increase by six percent in radio impressions having 134 million in the U.S. Unless an unexpected song is released or a trend explodes, the mostly Spanish hit could become the next one to crown all five of the main songs chart which includes the Hot 100, the aforementioned components and On-Demand Streaming.
