Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber have reason to celebrate this fourth of July as their song "Despacito" continues to rule the Hot 100 songs chart for an eighth consecutive week. The track also tops Hot Latin Songs for a 22nd week while crowning the Songs of the Summer tally for a fifth week with no sign of slowing down. The Hot 100 as well as all charts update on July 4 despite the holiday.
"Despacito" also leads the Digital Songs chart for a ninth week as it stays nearly even compared to the previous tracking week. It sold an additional 136,000 downloads with nearly 80 percent deriving from the mix featuring Bieber. Over on Streaming Songs, the mostly Spanish track reigns king for an eighth consecutive week having 62.6 million hits across popular platforms.
The song does however did see a significant jump in airplay yet stays put at No. 2 on Radio Songs. It received a total of 143 million impressions in the United States and gains by seven percent and creeps up on Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like" which received 147 million impressions. Mars commands the airplay chart for a ninth consecutive week, extending Atlantic Records No. 1 run on the latest list.
