Fans of Chicago indie rock Maps & Atlases have been waiting patiently for some new material from the three piece group. Luckily, the band have unveiled some good news for those individuals today.

The band's fifth studio album is titled Lightlessness Is Nothing New, and it will be released on June 1. The first single from the album titled “Fall Apart” has been unveiled for your listening pleasure below. Pre-orders for the release on vinyl and CD can be made here. Digital pre-orders can be made on iTunes. This will be the first release without founding member Erin Elders, who left the band in 2015. Lightlessness Is Nothing New will be the follow up to their 2012 studio album Beware and Be Grateful.

Maps & Atlases will also embark on a trek across the country to support the 10 song album, which kicks off on May 29. The band will make their way to Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg on June 20. The trek will feature support from Prism Tats, who will be promoting his sophomore studio album Mamba.
