The Dallas/Ft. Worth area always has the best concerts and tours coming through every month of the year and there is always something to attend for people who love all genres of music. Mardi Gras is no exception and there are a ton of great concerts and shows hitting the DFW area through the entire Mardi Gras week. With so much to choose from, here is the best Mardi Gras shows and concerts in Dallas and Ft. Worth for 2017.
The Lumineers will bring their folk music act to the Dallas-Fort Worth on Mardi Gras day itself. The concert will take place at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie as the biggest Mardi Gras day concert in the DFW area. This is a nice time to see the band before they set out on their massive North American tour opening for U2 this summer. Tickets are available through AXS for between $49.50 and $64.50.
Pop music sensation Daya is heading to Dallas-Fort Worth for a Mardi Gras week concert at Trees in Deep Ellum. At only 18-years-old, Daya received a Grammy nomination this year for her song with the Chainsmokers called “Don’t Let Me Down” and is out on tour in support of her debut album Sit Still, Look Pretty. Tickets for the Daya Dallas Mardi Gras concert are on sale through AXS and start out at $23.50.
TobyMac is on the road with his Hits Deep tour and has a huge list of fellow Christian musical artists performing along with him. One of the most successful Christian musicians of all time, TobyMac is hitting Dallas twice on his tour, with shows on Feb. 24-25 at the Verizon Theatre. Other acts on the bill include Hollyn, Ryan Stevenson, Capital Kings, Mac Powell, Mandisa, and Matt Maher. AXS has tickets available for between $15 and $69.75.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area also has a pair of huge festivals on the weekend of Mardi Gras. The first is the Back 2 the 80’s concert tour, which hits the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie on March 3. This event includes some of the 80’s top hip-hop stars, including Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Whodini, Jalil & Ecstasy, Al B. Sure!, Force MDs, Hi Five, Cherrelle, and Big Daddy Kane. Tickets for this huge event are available through AXS for between $45 and $125.
The second major concert festival is the Nu Soul Revival Tour. This features some big names in soul music all under one roof on one night on March 4 at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie. Bands here include Musiq Soulchild, Kindred the Family Soul, Lyfe Jennings, Chrisette Michele, and Avery Sunshine. Tickets for this special night of soul music range from $49.75 up to $99.50.
