"Handmade Heaven" is the second single from Marina under her new name. Previously, she was known as Marina and the Diamonds. Marina started to use her first name only on last year's "Baby" with Clean Bandit and Luis Fonsi. "Heaven" was written by Marina and produced by Lorde's frequent collaborator, Joel Little. Psychedelic synths back the singer as she dreams of a utopia tailor-made for her. "In this handmade heaven, I come alive / Bluebirds forever color the sky," Marina sings. "Handmade" is truly a heavenly listen and a sweet slice of pop paradise.
The music video for "Handmade Heaven" was directed by Sophie Muller, who has shot clips for Gwen Stefani, Shakira and Kylie Minogue in the past. A bundled up Marina braves the cold in the middle of a wintry forest. Colorful flowers also flash across the screen as she makes her way through scenic scenes. Marina basks in the beauty of nature in this simply stunning video.
"Handmade Heaven" is now available on iTunes and Apple Music. Marina's new album featuring this single is due out later this year. She will be one of the headliners at the Boston Calling music festival in May.
