Indie-pop duo Matt and Kim has announced the second half of their 2018 touring plans, which will now keep the two highly energized performers on the road until the fall months. Announced earlier this week, Matt (Johnson) and Kim (Schifino) will start their fall headlining tour with a show at Live on the Green in Nashville on Sept. 1, and will visit a mix of smaller eastern and midwest cities across the United States before the run comes to an end in Ithaca, New York with an appearance at X Ambassadors’ local Cayuga Sound Festival on Sept. 22.
The upcoming fall tour will follow the band’s appearances at Belly Up in Aspen, Colorado on Aug. 18, followed by a gig at Denver’s Velorama Festival on Aug. 19. Other notable stops on the duo’s U.S. tour includes scheduled shows at Atlanta’s Buckhead Theater and The NorVa in Norfolk, Virginia just to name a few.
Matt and Kim recently celebrated the release of their sixth studio album since forming back in Brooklyn back in the early 2000s. Almost Everyday was released back on May 4 via Fader Recordings and features four singles including “Forever,” which can be seen/heard in its official music video above.
“My entire adult life I’ve been on the road doing shows. It felt like I was retired,” Johnson said in a recent interview regarding the year-and-a-half hiatus from performing after Kim tore her ACL at a Mexican music festival. “I’ve never taken more than a couple months when we were making an album to get on the road. It felt that was another life of mine, ‘Hey, do you remember when we used to travel around and live in New York?’ It just felt like another life.”
Thankfully the band is back and ready to dance into the fall months, as tickets for select shows on the upcoming tour will be going on sale starting this Friday, and can be purchased by clicking here.
