Michael Buble has put out a new music video for his single "I Believe In You", but it's Derek Hough who's taking center stage. "Dancing with the Stars" competitor Hough stars in and served as director for the video, which you can watch now by using the media player included with this article.
According to a press release issued Friday, Buble's label Warner Bros. Records tapped Hough to stand in for him on this music video while the singer is on a break from all music commitments as he focuses on his family. Buble's son Noah is currently undergoing treatment for cancer, although the press release also mentioned that he is doing well as of last week.
Hough is a pretty good replacement. Aside from his long-running gig on "Dancing with the Stars" that includes two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Choreography, he recently received high praise for his performance in NBC's "Hairspray Live." This is the second music video that Hough has directed, after stepping behind the camera for Mark Ballas' "Get My Name" video in 2014.
He was more than happy to lend Buble a helping hand. "It's been a pleasure to work on this project - a positive story about everlasting love," Hough said in Friday's press release. "Sending all that energy to Michael and his wonderful family."
"I Believe In You" features Hough as one half of a couple that music fans get to watch progress from childhood to their senior years, all while their relationship grows and evolves. From the first meeting, to the blossoming of a love affair, to the fights and reconciliations and everything in between - the story takes audiences through the entire arc set to Buble's heartfelt lyrics. It may be the sweetest video you'll see all week.
If you want to see how it was made, you can also watch a behind the scenes video of Hough's directorial stint here.
