Mike Amadio named AHL Player of the Month

Ontario Reign center Mike Amadio was named the American Hockey League player of the month for December on Tuesday. Amadio led all players in the AHL in assists with 16 and points with 21 for the final month in 2017. 

Amadio has also recorded an assist in 11 straight games. It is the longest streak for any American Hockey League player since 2014. Amadio's best game of the month came on Dec. 10 as he had two goals and one assist with five shots on goal in a 3-2 overtime win over the San Antonio Rampage. Amadio scored the game tying goal at 1:56 of the third period and then assisted on the game winning goal by Kevin Gravel 35 seconds into overtime. 

Amadio has seven goals and 19 assists for 26 points on the season. He has also played eight games with the Los Angeles Kings and has one goal. 

In other Reign news, the Reign will have an American Red Cross super hero jersey night on Wed., Jan. 10 when they host the Rockford Icehogs at the Citizens Business Bank Arena. Fans will have the opportunity to buy a special custom made jersey.
