Mnet reveal 2018 M2 Year End Awards winners for Most-Viewed Videos
YouTube/M2

For the past two years, K-Pop (short for Korean Pop) has grown into a force to be reckoned with in the pop music mainstream. Following the Mnet Asian Music Award, which took place last December and honored the best of the industry, Mnet has just announced the winners of the 2018 M2 Year End Awards.

The awards look back on the top 20 most-viewed K-pop videos, and the videos are separated into categories like “Best Contents” and so forth. Coming in at number one was the “MPD Fan Cams” Series with 524,909,481 views. Of this series, the best performing video was BTS’s Jimin performing their breakout hit “Fake Love" on “M Countdown” with 34,569,870 views.

That view count rivals some of America’s best-known pop royalty, and it is a clear signal that K-pop is a genre that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and it could actually get stronger in 2019 with K-Pop acts who have already blown up in their native South Korea, taking the American pop market by storm.

So, grab some popcorn and watch above who took home a 2018 M2 Year End Award, and what an honor it is.
