Motorsports fans will want to head to Angel Stadium of Anaheim this weekend as Monster Energy Supercross descends on the venue Jan. 6 for its first race of the 2018 season. Tickets start at $20 and are on sale now here.
Monster Energy Supercross features some of the nation's top motorcycle riders including Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac as they battle it out on a tremendous off-road track for two-wheeled superiority and the AMA Supercross Championship. You can get an advance look at the Monster Energy Supercross Anaheim 1 track layout by playing the video above; it will be a new challenge for these elite riders to kick off the new year, and an in your face experience for any motorsports fan.
That's because in addition to the race itself, fans will be able to watch practice and qualifying sessions starting at 12 p.m. on Jan. 6, and can get access to the pits and the Pit Party (including vendors, activities and opportunities to meet the teams) with an additional $10 pit pass or for free by bringing a Monster Energy can. A VIP Experience upgrade is also available that allows fans to walk the track prior to the race, and be present for both the opening ceremonies and the post-race press conference; more information on VIP Experience tickets is available here.
But whether you purchase a package or just a race ticket, Monster Energy Supercross will be worth checking out in its first of two Anaheim races this season. With incumbent 4500cc class champion Ryan Dungey having retired after winning his fourth consecutive championship last season, the field is wide open to see who could be the next titleholder. One early favorite to watch is Roczen, who is returning to the track after he crashed and shattered his arm during last year's second Anaheim race, and looking to prove that he can win another title after taking the 250cc West class championship in 2013. But the first race of the year will have every rider looking to start their season off with a victory.
There are plenty of storylines to follow, and there will be plenty of fast-paced supercross action to enjoy, so don't miss your chance to see it all up close and personal at Angel Stadium on Jan. 6; get your tickets here. You can also see the full Monster Energy Supercross 2018 schedule here.
