Movements has announced their 2019 tour plans, and the California-based rockers will be headlining shows across the country starting this April. Get to know Movements by playing the video above to hear their song "Scripted" and then get tickets to see Movements live here at AXS.
Movements are gaining momentum followihg the release of their debut album Feel Something in October 2017. The record made a splash upon its release, reaching the second spot on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart. It also cracked the overall Billboard 200, coming in at position 191. While that may not be a huge number, to have a debut record become one of the 200 hottest albums is impressive.
What's responsible for their buzz? The band has been touring regularly and gaining word of mouth. Their 2019 tour follows a successful 2018 headlining tour and being part of the 2017 Vans Warped Tour lineup. In 2016, Movements proved they could even draw an audience to unconventional venues like bowling alleys and skate parks when they toured supporting Real Friends.
While they may not have released a lot of music, Movements have plenty of experience in live performance and have continued to refine their brand. That brand is a lot deeper and more complicated than one would expect from the typical modern rock band, as songs like "Scripted" mix that expected in your face sound with lyrics that are more about looking into their own lives. They're not just making cool loud noises; they're using their volume to amplify messages that are contemplative, complex and a little bit mysterious.
Movements are just getting started, and this tour is a perfect opportunity for music fans to join their movement on the ground floor. Anyone who loves rock music can get out and see them performing music from their very first album, and appreciate all the aforementioned qualities that make them a cut above the ordinary band.
