Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons and Post Malone are part of the diverse lineup performers at the 2018 Music Midtown festival, which will take place Sept. 21-22 at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. Other artists set to perform at the festival include Fall Out Boy, Khalid, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Gucci Mane, Janelle Monáe, Portugal. The Man, The Revivalists, Foster the People, Kacey Musgraves, Sylvan Esso and BØRNS. Tickets go on sale June 15 at 10 a.m. ET.
The annual festival, which was originally a three-day weekend event, has undergone many changes and venue locations since launching in 1994. Music Midtown went on hiatus from 2006 to 2010. It returned as a one-day event in 2011, and then expanded to two days (held on a Friday and Saturday) in 2012. In 2016, the event switched to being held on a Saturday and Sunday.
Music Midtown is one of several festivals that Lamar is performing at this year, including the Firefly Music Festival (June 14-17 at The Woodlands in Dover, Delaware) and the inaugural Grandoozy Festival, which will take place Sept. 14-16 at Overland Park Golf Course in Denver. Imagine Dragons are heading to Music Midtown after the European leg of the band's "Evolve" tour. Post Malone has been headlining a spring/summer 2018 tour of North America, with 21 Savage as the opening act. He's also doing a few other festivals, including Lollapalooza (Aug. 2-5 at Grant Park in Chicago), JAM'N 94.5's Summer Jam 2018 (Aug. 2 at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts) and Made in America (Sept. 1-2 at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia).
