NBC to air 'Pentatonix Christmas' with Kelly Clarkson and Reba
PTX Official

NBC will air a holiday special featuring Grammy-winning a cappella group Pentatonix on Dec., 14, 2016 at 8 p.m., per The Hollywood Reporter on Nov. 2, 2016. The popular group will be singing its favorite Christmas classics. The show is sure to help spread Christmas cheer with colorful decorations and the harmonies of popular singers.

“A Pentatonix Christmas Special” will feature Country Music stars Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire as special guests. Additional guests will be announced in the future. Dolly Parton was mentioned as a possibility because she has a good relationship with NBC. Dolly sang with Pentatonix for a “Jolene” cover, so it is hopeful that she will appear to add to the enjoyment of the show.

This is the first ever holiday network special for Pentatonix, whose harmonious singing made them a winner on the first season of “The Sing Off” on NBC. The group members include Kirstie Maldonado, Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kevin Olusola, and Avi Kaplan.

Pentatonix recently released their third Christmas album, A Pentatonix Christmas, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200.  The album includes their cover of “Hallelujah,” by Leonard Cohen. In total, the album has two original songs and nine Christmas classics, including “White Christmas featuring Manhattan Transfer,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” and “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”

A Pentatonix Christmas Special is executive produced by Brad Lachman Productions, Inc. in collaboration with RCA Records and Pentatonix.
