Wednesday the worlds of metal and gaming collided head-on when a groundbreaking new game by heavy metal icons Judas Priest was released. “Judas Priest: Road To Valhalla” is a new mobile game for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users. The Sony Music Entertainment game is available in the App Store. A version for Android users should come along at a later date according to Chip Ruggieri from Chipster PR.

The “Judas Priest: Road To Valhalla” game app features striking visuals. The gameplay itself is set to legendary Priest tracks such as , “Breaking the Law”, “Halls of Valhalla,” “Turbo Lover”, “Painkiller,” “Electric Eye,” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming.”  An innovative aspect of this game is how isolated song stems of drums, vocals and guitar from Judas Priest’s 2016 Battle Cry album are available to players within the game. In order to progress through each level of the game players must fill “stem meters” to construct the full song.

Lead singer and Metal God Rob Halford said if the press release, “When we set out to make this game, we wanted to give fans a new kind of visual listening experience. For the first time, we are making individual stems of our songs available to fans to give them a new and interactive way to engage with some of the best songs from our catalog.” Halford also appears in a series of video clips throughout gameplay. Judas Priest: Road To Valhalla” is a joint collaboration between Judas Priest, leading mobile game studio Babaroga, Sony Music Entertainment and Trinifold Management LLC UK.

Rob, Glenn, Richie, Ian and Scott have a message for their fans, “Metal maniacs are you ready to join Judas Priest on the Road To Valhalla.....? We are excited to have you take charge and lead the way on the bike and the tour bus! Let the molten metal mayhem begin with the thrill of the ride! Can you claim victory on this perilous journey that leads you into Valhalla...? Have a blast and enjoy!”
