Alt-J fans will be able to see the band's 80-minute performance for television and music series Artists Den on over 400 movie screens this fall--along with a little bonus footage.
"Artists Den presents Alt-J" will feature the band's concert filmed in Hollywood's American Legion for a private performance for 600 invited guests in theaters one time only on September 2, presented jointly by Artists Den and Fathom Events. While Artists Den has featured plenty of musicians before, the pairing with Fathom Events marks the first time one of them has been played in theaters.
"We're excited to be working with the iconic Artists Den to bring this exclusive concert event to U.S. audiences," said Kymberli Frueh, Fathom Events VP of Programming. "Alt-J captivated an intimate crowd in Los Angeles and now they can offer this same compelling concert to the entire country and with additional bonus content."
In addition to the concert, which featured songs from albums An Awesome Wave and last year's This Is All Yours, the screenings will also include exclusive interview footage.
"It's quite a historic room, a really beautiful room with a huge ceiling," singer and keyboardist Gus Unger-Hamilton said of the venue in one of the film's interviews. "I don't think the size of the room normally affects the set list, but I think there's a different kind of rapport with the crowd. You can feel it's more personal."
