Paul McCartney announced April 28 on his website his ever-expanding Out There! Tour will play Charlottsville, Virginia on June 23. The show, will be held at the John Paul Jones Arena, which hinted in recent days that a big concert announcement was coming. The show was one of three new McCartney tour stops Beatles Examiner reported in advance exclusively last week.
A presale of tickets for the newly announced show will take place beginning at 9 a.m. ET April 30, the McCartney website said. Fans who are registered with the McCartney website by 7 a.m. ET April 30 will be eligible to participate. A date for the general sale of tickets was not announced today.
The Out There! tour already has upcoming shows in the United States at the Firefly Music Festival show June 19 in Dover, Delaware, the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago on July 31 and a recently announced show June 21 in Philadelphia. McCartney played one previous U.S. show this year, a small-hall show at New York City's Irving Plaza on Valentine's Day that was supposed to be a secret though word of the show managed to creep out in advance.
The McCartney tour is currently in the Far East for a series of shows running through May 2. Then it will move to Europe starting May 23 with concerts in Great Britain beginning with two shows in London, then featuring one in Birmingham and one in his home town of Liverpool. Then the tour will head to Marseille in France, Amsterdam in the Netherlands for two shows, back to France for a show in Paris, then single shows in Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden.
