When Justin Bieber tours the world, there are guaranteed packed houses every night that he plays. This means that whoever opens for him will have a chance to expand their fan base and possibly impress kids enough to become the next big thing. The Purpose tour could mean big things for a Dallas-native named Post Malone, as the Dallas Morning News reported on Wednesday that he has been tapped to open for Bieber with a very special appearance at the American Airlines Center on April 10.
This is just another notch in the belt of Post Malone, who opened for Fetty Wap this week at the House of Blues in Dallas. Post Malone is a rap star who grew up in North Texas and hit it big with his song “White Iverson.” He also has cameo performances on album by 50 Cent and Kanye West, which should sell his talent to anyone who loves rap.
That breakout song, “White Iverson,” honors former NBA star Allen Iverson and Post Malone drops the names of a bunch of other NBA legends, showing his true love of the sport. If anyone wonders how good the song was, the track has already gone platinum, with over a million units sold, which is a pretty big deal for the Texas native.
He followed that song up with “Too Young,” and it proved that Post Malone was not a one-hit wonder and had some serious talent. The song was an impressive track about wanting to make a mark in the world before dying. With collaborations with 50 Cent and Kanye West, as well as an opening gig for Justin Bieber, it seems he is really on his way.
Post Malone is currently working on his new album, and has a lot of support, not only from rap stars like 50 Cent and Kanye West, who included him on their albums, but also from Jay-Z, who put him on a mix tape of can’t miss talent.
The Justin Bieber concert at the American Airlines Center takes place on April 10 with Post Malone and Moxie Raia in support. Tickets for the show are on sale through AXS.com and range from $50.50 up to $126.
