After teasing fans with part of the song last week, Chicago’s own Fall Out Boy has released the single “Immortals.” The song will be on the soundtrack for the upcoming Disney film Big Hero 6, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on Nov. 7, 2014.

A video for “Immortals” was posted on Fall Out Boy’s official YouTube channel late in the evening on Oct. 13, 2014. As of press time, the video had received more than 135,000 views. The song clocks in at just over four minutes and opens with the band selecting the single “Immortals” on a jukebox. The video does not include any footage from the movie, or any additional footage of the band.

Disney released a sizzle reel for Big Hero 6 last week during New York Comic Con that featured a small portion of “Immortals.” Fans were informed last week via Fall Out Boy’s official Facebook page that the song would be released this week.

Fans reacted positively to the video’s release, with many stating on the band’s official Facebook page they couldn’t wait to see the film.

Big Hero 6 is inspired by the Marvel comics and is a computer-animated comedy-adventure film. It features the voice talents of Genesis Rodriguez (Identity Thief), Jamie Chung (Once Upon A Time), Damon Wayans Jr. (New Girl), Maya Rudolph (Saturday Night Live) and Scott Adsit (30 Rock). The film has a PG rating.

The single “Immortals” is also available for purchase via iTunes for $1.29, and you can listen to it on Spotify, too. The film’s soundtrack is scheduled to be released on Nov. 24, 2014, via Amazon and will also include the original score by Henry Jackman. The composer’s previous credits include several Disney films, including Winnie The Pooh (2011) and Wreck-It Ralph (2012), and plenty of action films, including X-Men: First Class (2011) and Kick-Ass (2010) and Kick-Ass 2 (2013).

Fall Out Boy has recently released other material as well. Last month, the band released a Hyperlapse edition video of its single “Centuries.” As previously reported on AXS, the video featured a number of Chicago landmarks. The band has not shared the title for its upcoming album or a release date at this time. In an interview last month, band member Pete Wentz told Rock Sound that the album may be released in early 2015. The album will be Fall Out Boy’s sixth since the band was formed in 2001.
