One month ago the American rock band Imagine Dragons released a free stream of their new single "Gold." Today (Jan. 21) the band released a live performance music video for that song on their VEVO YouTube channel. The "Gold" music video was directed by Isaac Halasima, who previously worked with the band on their Making of Night Visions documentary.
In the video Imagine Dragons perform the song in a room full of high end stage production lights. During the chorus, the lights illuminate a gold color. There is no audience, and the video is entirely of them performing the song.
The song "Gold" is the third single released from Imagine Dragons' upcoming second studio album, Smoke + Mirrors. The album is set to be released on Feb. 17 via Interscope Records and KIDinaKORNER. The standard edition of the album features 13 tracks. The deluxe edition features an additional four songs.
The first two singles from the album were their songs "Warriors" and "I Bet My Life." Fans that pre-order the standard version of the album will get an instant download of "I Bet My Life" and "Gold."
The band has yet to announce headlining tour dates in support of their new album. They are set to play at a couple of festivals. On Jan. 30 they will perform at the DirecTV Super Fan Fest in Glendale, Ariz., and on May 20 they will perform at BottleRock in Napa Valley, Calif.
