Imagine Dragons release official music video for new single 'Shots'

The American rock band Imagine Dragons are gearing up for the release of their second studio album Smoke + Mirrors. Yesterday (Feb. 12), in support of the album's upcoming release the band released an official music video for their new single "Shots" on their VEVO YouTube channel. The music video for "Shots" was inspired by the paintings of Tim Cantor, who provided the artwork for their upcoming album.

In the video, each band member is in a different setting that resembles one of Tim Cantor's paintings. As the camera zooms out of each scene it suddenly becomes a picture in the next setting. The four minute long "Shots" music video was directed by Robert Hales who has previously worked with such artists as Death Cab For Cutie, Meg Myers, Nine Inch Nails, and Miley Cyrus.

The song "Shots" is the third single released from Smoke + Mirrors. The album is set to be released next week on Feb. 17 via Interscope Records. On Feb. 9 the band released a preview of all the tracks from their upcoming studio album. You can listen to snip-its the songs via iTunes here.

The band has a busy week coming up. On the album's release date they will perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. On Feb. 20 they will perform on the day time talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

In April Imagine Dragons will begin an extensive tour around the world in support of Smoke + Mirrors. For more information about the band and for a full list of their upcoming tour dates visit their official website here.
