Kacey Musgraves set to perform at Bob Dylan tribute concert

Dallas-native Kacey Musgraves has enjoyed a very good career since her days playing the local DFW music scene. That success has led her to the opportunity to get to perform at a concert honoring one of the music industry’s most iconic talents. Musgraves has been added to the Dylan Fest 2016 concert in honor of Bob Dylan’s birthday. The Boot reported on Thursday that Musgraves will perform at the May 24 concert.

The Dylan Fest 2016 show takes place at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on May 23-24, with the May 24 concert on Dylan’s actual birthday. All the musical acts will perform their favorite Bob Dylan songs and all will have Dylan’s Cabin Down Below Band playing the songs while they are singing.

There are a number of artists who will only perform on Dylan’s birthday and Musgraves is among those select artists. Others who will only perform on May 24 are Jason Isbell, Brothers Osborne, and Amanda Shires. Other artists might appear on both nights although all scheduled artists are subject to change.

Also appearing at Dylan Fest 2016 are Emmylou Harris, Ann Wilson of Heart, Wynonna Judd, Boz Scaggs, Kesha, Bijou Phillips, and many more. This festival is one in a series of Best Fests, which have included ones dedicated to Tom Perry, The Rolling Stones, and George Harrison. All proceeds from these shows have been donated to charity.

This concert is the only one that Kacey Musgraves has scheduled for the month of May, as the second leg of her Country & Western Rhinestone Revue ends this month. After that, she has a number of summer festivals lined up, including the Northside Festival and Lakeshake Festival in June, five more in July, and two in August. In September, Musgraves will hit the road again for anther leg of her Country & Western Rhinestone Revue tour.

Tickets to Dylan Fest 2016 are available through Ticketmaster. A two-night package is available for between $90 and $119 while single night tickets range from $45 to $59.50. The concerts are May 23-24 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the concerts each night starts at 7:30 p.m.
