Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson premiered her music video for "Piece by Piece" on Nov. 19. She celebrates motherhood in the new clip.
"Piece by Piece" is the third single from Clarkson's album of the same name. The personal tune follows her top 40 hit, "Heartbeat Song", and follow-up tune "Invincible." She revisits very heavy memories on this latest Piece tune.
For the single release of "Piece by Piece," RCA issued a radio remix. Instead of the lush, orchestral production behind the original, the new version features a synth-y dance sound similar to Clarkson's hit single, "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)." Kelly brings up her deadbeat dad while contrasting husband Brandon Blackstock's full presence in their daughter's life. "He restored my faith that a man could be kind and a father could stay," she sings. Clarkson pieces together a single that's full of vulnerability and vocals.
It's been awhile since the single release of Clarkson's "Invincible" back in May. Following the postponement of the Piece by Piece World Tour with Clarkson ordered on vocal rest, the promotion behind the album seemed done. Now that a second baby is on the way, she decides to celebrate motherhood in the unexpected "Piece by Piece" video. She belts out the tune with ladies from every walk of life represented, especially the ones expecting. Kelly even coddles daughter River Rose in one of the black-and-white shots. She gets personal in this empowering video.
The radio mix of "Piece by Piece" is now available on iTunes and Apple Music. Clarkson's album of the same name debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart back in March.
