Pop superstar Kelly Clarkson hit the stage at the Miss Vietnam competition on Dec. 6 with a hit that she hasn't performed in years. Evoking memories of her American Idol win back in 2002, she sang her coronation song "A Moment Like This."
"A Moment Like This" was Clarkson's very first no. 1 on Billboard following her win on season one of American Idol in 2002. She gave a tearful performance of the sappy song on the show after learning that she was the champion. Five albums and a string of hit singles later, Kelly has opted not to sing "Moment" on most of her tours since then. That changed when she took the stage at the Miss Vietnam competition.
Twelve years after her Idol win, Clarkson sang "A Moment Like This" in a black dress. The years on her voice showed for the better with this smoky rendition. An established superstar stood on that stage and gave the silly love song a lot more life and soul this time around. Thanks to whoever at Miss Vietnam ponied up the cash to make this "Moment" of nostalgia happen.
According to JustJared.com, Clarkson also performed her other hits "Because of You" and "Stronger" at the ceremony. She is currently plugging her Christmas record Wrapped in Red. Reports have surfaced saying a new studio album from Kelly should be on the horizon sometime next year.
