Kelly Clarkson is getting the new music ready for release

Kelly Clarkson has been very busy throughout December and she just announced that she plans on staying that way in the New Year. The Boot reported on Dec. 26, 2014 that Clarkson will be ready to release a new album in 2015. Clarkson did not reveal a specific date that we can expect the new music to arrive. This will be Clarkson’s first release aside from a holiday album since Stronger arrived in 2011.

Clarkson has had the spotlight shining on her in December by taking part in the American Country Countdown Awards. Clarkson joined Miranda Lambert on stage for a performance honoring Reba who received the first NASH Icon Award during the special. Reba is Clarkson’s mother-in-law and grandmother to Clarkson’s daughter River Rose, who was born in June.

The new Mom also put together the Christmas Benefit show titled "Miracle on Broadway" that took place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Clarkson hosted the Christmas concert that included special guests Reba, Garth Brooks, his wife Trisha Yearwood, Martina McBride, Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn of the duo Brooks and Dunn, Kacey Musgraves and Meghan Trainor taking part.

Clarkson’s "Miracle on Broadway" raised money to benefit The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Monroe Harding Children's Home, Second Harvest Food Bank and Thistle Farms. Money was raised with ticket proceeds and text messages that were sent during the special bringing in $200,000. Brooks and Yearwood decided to add a little more by matching the donations bringing the total raised to more than $400,000 for the charities.

Now Clarkson is ready to put her new music front and center. Clarkson described her new album by saying “It’s an uplifting record. I’ve always been a person about empowerment and doing empowering songs.” Clarkson continued by adding “There’s empowering songs on the record and there’s a lot of positive on there.”

Clarkson discussed the sound of her new music and if the album would lean more towards a pop sound or country music by saying “There’s all kinda of genres.” The Nashville resident added “I’m obviously affected by the community I live in so there’s a little bit of everything. It’s a great record.”
