Country singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves' new single "Biscuits" surfaced online on Tuesday, March 3. She serves blunt truths via cute food-related metaphors.
"Biscuits" is the lead single from Musgraves' second studio album. She previously made noise in the country music scene with 2013's Same Trailer Different Park, which took home Best Country Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. Kacey has tackled heavy subjects in the genre like LGBT rights in "Follow Your Arrow" and broken families in "Merry Go 'Round." This latest tune sees the singer-songwriter offer more words of wisdom in a very creative way.
"Biscuits" chugs along with Kacey's guitar and a usual rustic sound. On the lighthearted tune, she uses cute wordplay to get her blunt truths across. The most poignant line of the bunch: "Mind your own biscuits and life will be gravy." Fellow country act Brandy Clark also helped pen the delectable tune. These "Biscuits" are easy on the ears and still pack a good ol' Musgraves bite.
Musgraves' "Biscuits" single will be released to radio very soon and hit digital retailers like iTunes on March 17. There is no word yet on when her sophomore album with Mercury Nashville will drop. Her Same Trailer Different Park album was critical success and it also peaked at No. 2 on the all-genre Billboard chart while reaching the top spot on the country tally.
Kacey made headlines last year for her CMT Crossroads special with pop superstar Katy Perry. The two acts covered each others' hit songs and even performed some of them together.
