Paul McCartney announced April 28 on his website he was adding a second new U.S. show to his Out There! Tour today after his confirmation earlier in the day he would play Charlottesville, Virginia on June 23. The latest addition to the tour is a show two days later on June 25 at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina.
Both shows were two of the three dates Beatles Examiner reported exclusively last week. The third, in Philadelphia on June 21, was officially announced by McCartney April 24. The two new dates announced today mark his first time playing in Charlottesville and his first show in Columbia in 22 years.
The exclusive ticket presale for both shows for American Express cardholders takes place from 10 a.m. ET April 30 through 10 p.m. May 3, the McCartney announcement said. General sale begins May 4 at 10 a.m. local time.
The Out There! tour has other scheduled shows in the United States at the Firefly Music Festival show June 19 in Dover, Delaware, the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago on July 31 in addition to the Philadelphia show. McCartney played one previous U.S. show this year, a small-hall show at New York City's Irving Plaza on Valentine's Day that was supposed to be a secret though word of the show managed to creep out in advance.
The tour is currently in the Far East for a series of shows that run through May 2. It will then move to Europe starting May 23 with concerts in Great Britain beginning with two shows in London, then featuring one in Birmingham and one in his home town of Liverpool. Then the tour will head to Marseille in France, Amsterdam in the Netherlands for two shows, back to France for a show in Paris, then single shows in Oslo, Norway and Stockholm, Sweden, then hit the U.S. Tickets for all these shows are available here.
