The Beach Boys announce 2016 U.S. winter tour
The CW

The Beach Boys will hit the road in January to spread a little California surf and sunshine across the U.S. in 2016. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will tour coast-to-coast, performing shows through mid-May.

According to an article posted Dec. 29 at Pollstar, the "Kokomo" hitmakers, featuring founding member Mike Love along with longtime BB alumnus Bruce Johnston, will bring their everfresh California Sound to over thirty cities throughout the U.S. in support of the 50th anniversary reissue of their 8th studio album titled The Beach Boys Party! Uncovered and Unplugged, which hit shelves in multiple formats on Nov. 20 via Capitol Records.

The winter romp will kick off Jan. 21, 2016 in Redwood City, California, at Fox Theatre Redwood City. The multi-platinum sellers will make numerous major stops, including shows in Baltimore, Las Vegas and Austin, Texas before wrapping up May 15 in Des Moines, Iowa, at Des Moines Civic Center.

Tickets for select events are on sale now. For more information, click here.

"Party! Uncovered and Unplugged" has been remixed, remastered and expanded and features 81 songs and dialog tracks. The reissue is available here in digital, CD and vinyl formats

Love recently re-recorded a previously unreleased 1979 Beach Boys holiday season song “(You’ll Never Be) Alone on Christmas Day," which made its debut last month via Rolling Stone. The Beach Boys performed the song on Dec. 11 in Los Angeles at the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Fans can catch the performance above.

"Alone on Christmas Day" was recently covered by French rockers Phoenix with special guest ex-SNL alumnus Bill Murray's for his holiday special, "A Very Murray Christmas." Fans can still catch the show online via Netflix.

The icon American pop-rockers wrapped up their touring year on the road, making stops in Australia, New Zealand and Europe through December, before wrapping up the year back in the U.S. on Dec. 28 at Avon, Colorado. Love and company will take a well deserved rest over the holidays before launching their U.S. tour leg.
