"If you ain't got nothing to say, don't say nothing at all," Kacey Musgraves advises on her tasty new single "Biscuits," the first offering from her forthcoming sophomore album Pageant Material. Ahead of the album dropping June 23, the acclaimed singer-songwriter teases her hilarious, knee-slapping "Biscuits" video, which appears to feature Musgraves as a man—in one snapshot; in another, she dons 1895 female garb and had to be sewn into her outfit) and a muppet named Cledus Guthrie. "[The video] is just plum country fun," she quips.
The behind-the-scenes featurette premiered on YouTube on Tuesday (June 9). Check it out above.
Despite little radio support (her sole Top 10 radio hit is her debut release "Merry Go Round" off 2013's Same Trailer Different Park), Musgraves has managed to surpass most of her male peers, in both sales figures and high-profile (and non-country) opportunities (including an opening slot on Katy Perry's Prismatic World Tour last August). She certainly owns her own crazy, and she already has all ears to the ground as she gears up promotion for the next album cycle.
