For Justin Bieber, the criticisms will probably never end, as an innocent photo with a tiger has left him yet another victim of hate and bashing.
On April 30, the pop singer attended an event to celebrate his father's engagement to longtime girlfriend Chelsey Rebelo. Jeremy Bieber decided to throw a huge party in Toronto and while Biebs loyally posed for some pictures with his father, he also decided to take one with a tiger. The photo shows Justin crouching down next to a tiger, not looking particularly thrilled. Unforunately, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) was not too thrilled either.
While it may seem innocent for the Toronto native to be petting a tiger, PETA did some investigating and it appears this exotic creature was actually borrowed from a local zoo whose owner has 5 counts of animal cruelty behind his name.
It may seem a little dramatic to put the blame on Justin, but PETA's Senior Vice President Lisa Lange claims, "Justin Bieber is lucky not to have had his throat torn out by this stressed captive tiger. Tigers used for photo ops are torn away from their mothers shortly after birth, and the Bowmanville Zoo, in particular, was caught whipping one tiger more than 17 times, even after the cat was lying on his back in a position of submission and fear."
Obviously, that's terrible but the question remains: How was Justin to know?
This isn't the first time Biebs has ran into problems with PETA. Back in 2013, he was slammed by PETA activists for purchasing a white and brown, seven weeks old, American bulldog puppy.
Justin has yet to respond on the matter. Check out the now-infamous picture below; Bieber's Purpose Tour continues with back-to-back shows on May 4-5 at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn.
