Nick Murphy, formally known as Chet Faker, announced on Tuesday that he will be touring in support of his new EP starting this week.

Australian producer/musician Nick Murphy will be heading out on the road in support of his newly announced transition EP, Missing Link, the popular DJ announced on Tuesday afternoon. While he’s been performing under the artistic alias Chet Faker since releasing his debut EP in 2012, this will be the first album cycle and tour which will feature Murphy going by his real name.

The tour starts this coming Thursday, May 11, with a DJ set at Denver’s Club Vinyl, and will keep the electronic musician on the road in North America until late October. Fans should expect to hear some new music from his new Missing Link album, which was also released on Tuesday via Downtown Records and Interscope. The new songs are acting as a musical bridge, as Murphy begins to transition out of being known by his popular “Chet Faker” moniker.

“Chet Faker was me trying to prove something to myself,” Murphy said about the change in his artistic direction in a statement. “But my tastes are pretty dynamic and I realized I’ve spent time resisting that. Now I want to put everything in. It’s not conceptual anymore. It’s just me, and it made sense to show that in a name. It feels like a rediscovery.”

Highlight performances scheduled on the upcoming tour include a show with Bonobo at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on May 12, an appearance at New York’s Panorama Music Festival in late July, L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium on Oct. 19 and of course his final gig on the North American leg at Austin’s Moody Theatre at ACL Live on Oct. 26.

Fans can watch the trailer for the Missing Link EP in the video below, which was co-directed by Murphy and Australian filmmaker/musician Johann Rashid. Pre-Sale for select tickets on the upcoming tour will start on May 10 and 11, and can be bought by clicking here.
