Old Crow Medicine Show have added five new dates onto their 2018 tour schedule. The new batch of concerts was announced earlier this week, and include a pair of shows in the midwest come late June, followed by a gig at Central Park SummerStage in New York City on July 26. The band will then head down to their familiar area of Appalachia for two concerts in North Carolina and their home state of Virginia come September.
The newly announced concerts will certainly beef up Old Crow's ongoing 2018 campaign, which already includes scheduled stops at Philadelphia’s Electric Factory and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado in August. The band started their short North American spring run early last week in promotion of their recently released sixth studio album, Volunteer, which arrived back on April 20 via their new label, Columbia Nashville. The mix of concerts sprinkled into the summer months should help give the band some extra exposure for their new studio effort, in addition to giving select cities across the country with some fantastic roots rock to dance along to.
"When you're on the stage, you're running a marathon," founding member and frontman Ketch Secor told Rolling Stone about performing in a recent interview. "I've found that I do better with running after the pistol shot than I do sitting there and calculating every step of the run and mapping it accordingly and then lacing up my sneakers."
Tickets for the newly announced shows will be going on sale starting this Friday, May 4, and can be found by clicking here.
