U.K. singer-songwriter Dua Lipa's "New Rules" single entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. On the chart released on Aug. 8, she debuts at No. 90.

"New Rules" is one of the singles from Lipa's self-titled album. The effort had been two years in the making with songs like "New Love" and "Be the One" released back in 2015. "Rules" is causing ripples in the industry. Dua penned the song with Emily Warren and producer Ian Patrick, the guy behind Selena Gomez's "Bad Liar." Atop tropical beats with elements of electro swing, Lipa counts the ways of dealing with feelings for an ex. "And if you're under him, you ain't getting over him," she warns. It's a colorful cautionary tale delivered in an empowering dance track.

The music video for "New Rules" is going viral as well with over 80 million views as of press time. Lipa hits up a hotel in Miami with a couple of girlfriends and through creative choreography, they support each other in dodging exes. The camaraderie of Dua's song is beautifully brought to life in the vibrant video. Expect this clip to help "Rules" continue to climb music charts worldwide.

While "New Rules" starts to make a splash in the U.S., over on the U.K. chart, Lipa's latest single sits comfortably at No. 9. Dua's debut album is now available on iTunes and Apple Music.
