The Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League have changed their regular season home date against the Texas Stars at the Citizens Business Bank Arena from Fri., Nov. 2 to Thurs., Nov. 1. Due to the change in date, the game against the Stars will be the only time during the 2018-19 American Hockey League season that the Reign will have a regular season home game on a Thursday.
The Reign have two other Thursday games. They will play host to the San Diego Gulls at 10 a.m. in an exhibition contest on Thurs., Sept. 27 and will be in Bakersfield against the Bakersfield Condors at the Rabobank Arena in a special 10:30 a.m. start on Thurs., Nov. 29.
The Reign's opponent on Nov. 1, the Texas Stars, are coming off a marvelous season. Texas advanced to the 2018 Calder Cup Finals, where they lost four games to three to the Toronto Marlies. The Stars leading point producer in the 2017-18 regular season was Travis Morin, who was tied for 11th in league scoring with 61 points (10 goals and 51 assists).
The Stars leading point producer in the 2018 Calder Cup playoffs was Curtis McKenzie, who had 20 points (11 goals and nine assists). McKenzie only trailed Marlies left winger Andreas Johnsson (24 points) among all players in American Hockey League playoff scoring.
