P!nk to receive the Video Vanguard Award at the 2017 MTV VMAs

Superstar P!nk will take home one of MTV's most prestigious awards at the upcoming 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. Ahead of the release of her seventh studio album Beautiful Trauma (due out Oct. 13), P!nk will be honored with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award during the live broadcast on Aug. 27.

The Vanguard Award will become P!nk's seventh VMA trophy overall since winning her first two in 2001 for her collaboration on "Lady Marmalade." She then took home the prize for Best Female Video and Best Dance Video for "Get the Party Started" in 2002. In 2006, she won Best Pop Video for her parody-like "Stupid Girls" video. Her sixth win came in 2013 for Best Collaboration for the song "Just Give Me a Reason" with Nate Ruess. In all, P!nk has been nominated 18 times in her career that is soon approaching two decades.

The Vanguard Award is given to those who have an impact on music, pop culture, fashion and philanthropy. P!nk has surprised and stunned fans and viewers with not only her in-your-face attitude, but also her show-stopping theatrics. Over the years, P!nk has displayed her creativity at the VMAs through elaborate performances such as 2009's "Sober," where she took to the sky in silks.

Past recipients of the Vanguard Award include Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Madonna

The 2017 MTV VMAs will feature performances by Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Lorde and more. P!nk released her latest single "What About Us" on Aug. 10. Listen to the new track above.
