Paul McCartney and James Corden Liverpool visit fuels 'Carpool Karaoke' hopes

Sir Paul McCartney and James Corden were spotted in The Beatles legendary UK hometown of Liverpool on Saturday, June 9, and a Twitter post of the selfie the famous pair took at the Beatles statue by @beatlesstory (attached below) spawned a flood of comments in which fans express excitement about a potential Carpool Karaoke segment on “The Late Late Show,” including one fan @LadyJaneAsher who tweeted, “gonna be a great Carpool Karaoke!! beepbeep beepbeep yeah!!😊🚗💕🎶💕”

Per a Billboard report, the dashing British duo was also seen at McCartney’s childhood home at 20 Forthlin Road and on Penny Lane, as is mentioned in the beloved Beatles tune. The recent Companion of Honour for Contribution to the Arts honoree also stunned fans by playing a secret, impromptu gig at the iconic Philharmonic Pub in Liverpool. Corden was also present at the show and one attendee posted some photos of the spontaneous show, exclaiming at the beginning of the caption, “My head has fallen off …” (See the post below).

The famous Beatles frontman is also fueling speculation that a new album is coming, or an official 50th-anniversary release of The White Album may be on its way, with the recent changes to his Twitter and Instagram accounts. His Twitter profile is a blank white box and all his Instagram photos appear to have been deleted. Last month, Sir Paul was announced as a headlining act in the star-studded lineup for the 2018 Austin City Limits (ACL) Festival in Austin, Texas in October.

Paul McCartney is one of the most successful music artists of all time. He is an 18-time Grammy Award winner. He is a double Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee as a member of The Beatles and a solo artist. He is a 2010 recipient of the Gershwin Prize for his contributions to popular music, is a Kennedy Center Honoree and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to music. McCartney toured extensively in 2016 – 2017 on the One on One Tour. He released a career-spanning multi-CD and vinyl album compilation set Pure McCartney in 2016. An official Paul McCartney new album announcement has not yet been made or confirmed.
