Paul McCartney will head back to South America in 2019. The iconic British rocker will make his first triumphant visit in over five years in continued support of his chart-topping solo album Egypt Station, which dropped Sept. 7 via Capitol Records.
The ex-Beatle made the announcement on Dec. 3 via Twitter and other social media in the midst of his current Freshen Up Tour of Europe and the U.K. The two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer will open his 2019 touring year in March with visits to Chile, Argentina, as well as a pair of stops in Brazil. The 2019 shows will be Macca's first in South America since his Out There Tour performance on May 9, 2013, in Fortaleza, Brazil.
The stadium trek will launch on March 20 in Santiago, Chile, at National Stadium. Dates include March 23 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at Polo Ground, as well as March 26 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at Allianz Parque, before wrapping up March 30 in Curitiba, Brazil, at Estadio Couto Pereira.
“We’ve freshened up the show since our last visit,” writes McCartney in a press release. “We are excited to be playing some of our new songs from the new album as well as the songs we always love to play.”
Select presales for the newly added shows will begin on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 10:00 a.m. local time. For more details, click here.
