Months of preparation, sewing, and saving up cash has finally led to this! The 2017 installment of New York Comic Con kicked off yesterday, and several eager people waited in line since one in the morning to get in. Armed with snacks and caffeine, they managed to pass the time by conversing with each other about previous times at New York Comic Con. Many of them are attending this massive convention for the first time.

When the doors finally opened at 10 a.m., thousands of people made their way into the Javits Center to be one of the first ones to experience this year's festivities. Due to construction in the area, the spot where artist alley has been placed over the years was closed. Fortunately, the fine artists were placed right next to the Main Stage downstairs. Aside from the events taking place in the Javits Center, there were some special ones happening several blocks away, including a panel with AMC's Comic Book Men at Hammerstein Ballroom and a discussion with Goosebumps author R.L. Stine at the Hudson Mercantile. We were on hand to capture some amazing cosplayers that packed New York Comic Con, which you can see in our slideshow above.
