Internationally-renowned DJ and producer Tiësto performed in Brooklyn for the first time last weekend, and did not disappoint his loyal fans. The Brooklyn Hangar (2 52nd St., Brooklyn) was at its 2,750-person capacity on both Friday and Saturday night, and the stage effects and sound quality at the Sunset Park warehouse rivaled Las Vegas' biggest venues. The second night was added due to necessity, after the Feb. 24 tickets sold out within 10 minutes. Not surprisingly, the Feb. 25 show sold out within an hour after its offering-- a testament to the immense popularity of the Dutch star.

Tiësto recently released his first compilation album on his deep house label, AFTR:HRS, and the project features appearances by Sultan + Shepard, Alex Schulz, MOGUAI and others. Tracks from AFTR:HRS - Mixed By Tiësto were performed at the Brooklyn show, in addition to his hit remixes of "Clarity," "Paradise," "Adagio for Strings" and more crowd favorites. Tiësto's powerful musical creations and collaborations with the industry's biggest artists have made him one of the most spun DJs in the world, but there is nothing like a Tiësto live experience. The energy of the crowd, and from the man himself, make his concerts an almost spiritual experience. If given the chance to see the Grammy Award-winning icon in person, seize the opportunity. Tiësto is currently touring worldwide, with Finland, the Netherlands and Las Vegas appearances coming up. Check the slideshow for awe-inspiring visuals from the Brooklyn concert.
