Niantic

Pokémon GO turns two in July, and to celebrate, Niantic unveiled yet another form of one of the world’s most recognized mascots. “Summer Style” Pikachu was released in the game on July 6, and sports aviator sunglasses and a straw hat with a flower on top.

From now until July 31, Pikachu can be seen more frequently in game. A summer Pichu is hatchable from eggs. A shiny form may exist, however, sightings have not been confirmed as of the publishing of this article.

Cosmetic items for the trainers themselves are also available in the style shop. These items include  Pikachu ears, shoes, a shirt and shorts with charms. In order to purchase these items though, trainers will need to have a bronze, silver and gold Pikachu badge.

Niantic had this message to the game’s fans in a blog post, “thank you so much for adventuring with us and catching Pokémon all over the world. You truly are what makes this journey so special!”
