The magic of classic Christmas ballet The Nutcracker continues to delight fans young and old every Christmas season, including audiences at the Rabobank Theater for the 41st year.

The Civic Dance Center will continue the tradition of presenting the ballet Dec. 7 through 9 for two evening performances and two matinees. Tickets are on sale now right here on AXS, priced at $38 and $40 for adults, $20 and $21 for students, and $12 for children.

The Nutcracker tells the story of a young girl, Clara, whose Christmas gift, a nutcracker, comes to life and battles mice with other toys alongside him before taking Clara on a fantastic journey full of dancing snowflakes, flowers, and the famous Sugar Plum Fairy. The score by composer Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky includes music that's become immediately recognizable thanks to its prominence in the holiday season, from holiday movies to advertisements.
